Cup Creatures

Tea was drunk out of Woolworth’s Homemaker cups and saucers, the Shelly octagonal tea set and silver tea pot which I inherited was kept for best.  Tea the elixir, that magical substance that is common to both my British and Sri Lankan heritage. Could these different roots be brought together? Might they reference the co-operative movement, The British Empire? indentured labourers? Could they, in some amorphous sea creatureish way transcend these boundaries?

Might this idea have legs?  I’m sharing my explorations with you.
